Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness' sake... Rejoice and be very glad, because your reward in heaven in great.
2. Let your good works be seen by men.Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
3. It is not good to break any of these commandments no matter how minor, nor teach others to do so.Whosoever breaks one of these least commandments, and teaches men to, he shall called least in the kingdom of heaven.
4. Do not even verbally act on anger.Whosoever shall speak evil to his brother shall be liable to the council, but whosoever shall say [to his brother] a foolish thing shall be liable to gehenna fire.
5. Do not imagine doing (let your mind fantasize) what would be sin to do in real life.Whosoever lusts after a wife commits adultery with her in his heart. It would be more profitable for you to pluck out your right eye--if it offends you, and cast it from you and let it perish--than for your whole body to be cast into gehenna.
6. Do not divorce your wife unless she is caught for defilement.Whosoever divorces his wife, except if it is for defilement, makes her a victim of adultery, and whosoever marries this divorced woman commits adultery.
7. Do not swear on things (heaven, earth, your head), and do what you commit to do.Let your word be yes for yes, and no for no. Whatsoever is more than these is of evil.
8. Do not counteract selfish behavior, "reward" it.If any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloke also. And whosoever will urge you to go a thousand steps, go with him two thousand. Be generous to him that asks from you, and do not push aside one who is seeking from you.
9. Treat your enemies with kindness.Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.
10. Be generous, and do so privately.Be careful that you do not reveal your generosity before men, to be seen of them, because otherwise you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
11. Pray, and do so privately, not using repetitions. When you pray, do not be as the hypocrites are, because they love to pray while standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
12. Pray This Prayer:Our Father in heaven, who has a holy name, your kingdom come, your will be done, in heaven and on earth. Give us our bread continually, and forgive us our sins. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from all evil. Amen.
13. Fast, and do so privately. When you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face, only for it to seem to others that you are not fasting. But it will be known by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, which sees in secret, will reward you openly.
14. Do not be greedy.Do not store up treasures upon the earth.
15. Do not worry over certain ordinary needsDo not worry about [the ordinary needs of] your life, what you will eat, or what you will drink, nor yet about [the ordinary needs of] your body, what you will wear... Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
16. Do not be a hypocrite. With the measure you mete it will be measured to you again.
17. Be careful with what is holy.Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not cast your pearls before swine.
18. Practice the the Golden Rule.Whatsoever you would want others to do for you [in a situation], do the same for them [in that situation].
19. Strive to be worthy of life.Strive to enter the narrow gate, because many, I tell you, will seek to enter it and will fail to.
